"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world would do this, it would change the earth.”
My name is David Hamilton and I am currently running for County Council.
I was born and raised in Akron. I am an alumni at Arlington Christian Academy and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. I received my Bachelors of Art in Sociology as well as minors in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Akron. I proceeded to receive my Juris Doctorate at the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.
I am currently a Prosecutor for the City of Akron. Being a prosecutor has taught me the importance of public safety and fairness. I will use the resources I have obtained to continue to make a difference by improving community relations and bringing jobs into the area. I am currently involved in many civic and non-profit organizations to do just that. I am a Board Member of Victim Assistance, Board Member of AxessPointe Community Health Center, member of Kiwanis, the Guiding Coalition Chair of Circles/Bridges out of Poverty, and am the political director of the Summit County Young Democrats. Let me use my personal and professional experiences and draw my resources to help the community.
I am very fortunate to be in a position to try and better my community. I have a very tight knit community and family here in Akron. Throughout my youth, I was involved in various organizations that helped me achieve scholastic success and provide me with a positive mindset that guided me through childhood. I was very fortunate to have role models like my mother and father who instilled faith, discipline, and a hard work ethic so that I could be where I am today. My dream is to give back and help the community that enriched me and provided me with so much. Trust me with your vote and we can make Akron better. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon - let’s get to work.
